(Cincinnati, OH and Columbus, OH– September 6th, 2017) –
ReadySet Surgical, a healthcare technology company in Cincinnati, Ohio, and The Ohio State University-Wexner Medical Center, have entered into a multi-year agreement that will streamline the hospital’s procedural supply chain. The action will improve operating room and clinic efficiency, reducing expense, enhancing coordination and improving patient safety.
ReadySet’s cloud-based coordination platform facilitates the tracking of consigned implants, loaned instruments, clinic trays and endoscopes back to each patient’s record. Every time a procedure is scheduled or inventory is requested, ReadySet’s software triggers an automated process to procure the necessary equipment. This helps to ensure clinicians and surgical teams have instruments and implants sterilized and available in order for procedures to begin on time, and provides complete transparency of the entire process.
The world-renowned medical center will be among the first hospitals in the US to use ReadySet’s ScopeID module, to simplify the management, sterilization and traceability of endoscopes. 55 million GI endoscopies (and millions more in neurosurgery, orthopedics and ENT) are performed in US hospitals and surgical centers every year.
“There is a need in the market for novel technologies to minimize human error in the procedural supply chain,” said ReadySet Surgical Founder and CEO Keerthi V. Kanubaddi, a 12 year medical device industry veteran. “Our technology requires minimal infrastructure and allows for large healthcare facilities, such as The OSU-Wexner Medical Center, as well as smaller surgical centers, to have easy access to sterilization guidelines and track any implant, instrument or endoscope directly to the patient record. This reduces expense, enhances coordination and improves patient safety.”
ReadySet’s Loaner Management Software also helps to lower a healthcare facility’s costs associated with surgical equipment loss.
